August 10, 2003 - 6:24 a.m. I finally found employment with which to start, in at least some way, supporting myself and catching up on bills. I'll not get into the details of the job, though I will say I luckily have no need to say "Would you like fries with that?" during my work day. I have gone a further step though, and am waiting to hear on a second job so I can make up for lost time and mine. With the job came the last hurdle I had set for myself before I asked out Mr. X, whom I have been spending alot of time with for the past couple months. I was lucky enough to have him say yes, so I am now with boyfriend and will travel! Well, not really, I'd rather sit on the couch with Mr. X and watch a movie and watch him fidget through the whole thing. We both have ADD, so watching movies together is fun, and doesn't usually include either of us knowing what it was about after it's done. I have also secured accomodations for when I move out of the Lilac Kingdom on Sept 1st, so I can relax and take back the maytag box that I had been decorating in anticipation of needing it for a small studio apartment. Hopefully the new location and the different energy and roomate will help me follow through with my personally set goal of fully transcribing my first book from the mead notebooks in which it resides now, into the WORD format on my comp, before Thanksgiving, 400 pages of typing and editing. Attaining that and/or the completion of my alter-ego's blog experiment, will put me into position to facilitate bringing a finished novel manuscript around looking for a publisher. The blog project started off as a little writing experiment to explore a character, but has since turned into the concecpt and actuall first six chapters of another book in which that character turns out to be the main one. I am glad I finally learned my lesson and stopped writing in notebooks, since this way I can edit as I go and not have to shuffle through pages and notes and loose things. NOw, my fne young and sparse readers, I will have to let you go, and get to what I have planned for the next couple special days: Writing in the rain and thunderstorms. My favorite time to let the juices flow onto the screen. And it is also something I enjoy on other levels, which is why I have been working the spell to call forth this much rain in a row for the past three weeks. I had to call in a favor or two from a weather sprite I knew back in a Vermont State park, and I had to cojule and persuade a wood nymph into vacationing with the Red Woods this year, but I managed to somehow swing it. Now, a quick sacrifice to a hearth god in cambridge, and I will be ready to sit back and enjoy the elemental show. I hope you can as well. But I wont lie and say I will think about how you feel about it after I post this message. NOt unthinking or cold, no, I say this in acceptence that you can't please everyone, and I am one of the only .25% of the earths human population that truely enjoys the rain, and I deserve a little something something right....about....now!
